The right tools ensure an efficient translation process
Successful localization requires advanced technical specialization and understanding of the latest language technology tools. Using your original files and our translation tools and filters for various program formats, we can make the entire translation process more efficient and cost-effective.
We use the most advanced translation tools available on the market to help us reuse and translate your texts as consistently as possible. Project- or company-specific translation memories play a part in achieving consistently high quality levels in your localized material.
Translation memories improve consistency and reduce costs
Speed and price are two main translation issues, making the reuse of translated material necessary. Translation memories (databases of translated sentence pairs in the original source language and the translated target language) speed up the translation process significantly – and improve the consistency of terminology and style of writing.
Up-to-date translation memories (TMs) decrease the cost of translation since the number of words needing translation decreases over time as the translation memory grows. As an added benefit, an extensive translation memory allows for greater consistency of translations, particularly when more than one translator is used on a single project.
We can help you build translation memories from existing documentation, or improve the structure and functionality of existing memories and continuously review, update and store them for you.
Dictionaries and term database
AAC Global has an extensive database of glossaries sorted by customer as well as standard Windows and Macintosh terminology glossaries that help us maintain consistent terminology.
In addition we can give you access to TechniTerm, a term database of IT and telecom terminology that currently contains over 17,000 words and phrases in five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Swedish. In English, there are over 20,000 reference words thanks to the number of synonyms and abbreviations. Every word and expression in TechniTerm is checked and approved by experienced technical translators and representatives of the telecom industry to ensure that the material maintains the highest possible standard. It is updated once annually to keep pace with developments in the telecom industry.
